Coaching Philosophy

Matthew Olson works with Field Players and Goalkeepers on technique and tactical improvement and fine tuning. As a youth soccer player growing up in Seattle, Matthew spent thousands of hours sharpening his playing skills. From his dogged/demanding training regime, he created opportunities to play soccer collegiately as well as professionally around the world. In transitioning to coach, he has studied from some of the great soccer coaches nationally and internationally. Matthew brings an energy and excitement about the game and uses his experiences to train youth, ODP and college players in preparation for the playing level they aspire to. "Successful players repetitively train a variety of skills to develop a strong playing foundation, from there a strong and competitive mindset is advantageous to successfully handle the demands of the game; these are value-added areas I help my players grow".
