Schedule Overview
Calendar Year: We will work in conjunction with the regular ECFC calendar, however our volume and training emphasis will be periodized in a manner in which maximizes the athlete’s progress and still allows for the 40 week schedule.
May - June (Preseason) | This will be an 8 week block where the primary emphasis is Speed Development. The sessions will focus on Explosive Movements, High Intensity, and Lower Volume. |
July (Off) | We will be sending out “Homework” for the athletes to do but this is the club break period and giving the athletes the ability to recover and have a bit of a summer. |
August (Season Prep) | This is the primary prep for the Fall Season. It will consist of 5 weeks with the first four building the work capacity and metabolic conditioning. The 5th will be when we perform our benchmark tests (Cooper’s Run, Shuttle, etc.) |
September - November (In-Season) | The 3 HS girls teams will be participating in their HS program but all other teams will continue with the In-season work. This will be used to maintain conditioning and also work on recovery, flexibility and core development. |
December (Off) | Similar to July, December will be off and the athletes will be sent “Homework” if they want but this month is definitely needed for recovery and having a holiday season. |
January - February (Pre-Season) | This will be the primary strength development block of the program. For the first 4 weeks the emphasis will be on functional strength. The next 3 weeks we will be similar to August in developing work capacity. The final week will be when we perform our benchmark tests again (Cooper’s Run, Shuttle, etc.). |
March - April (In-Season) | The 7 boys teams will be participating in their HS programs but all other teams will continue with the In-season work. This will be used to maintain conditioning and also work on recovery, flexibility and core development. |
